The word Punjab is originated from persian language which means "Land of five Rivers". But now there is only three Rivers are flowing in Punjab. These are - Satluj, Beas and Ravi. The Punjab is a part of Indus-Yamuna Plain region.

The Land between two rivers is called 'Doab'. Doab is a persian language word which means land between two Rivers. Where Do means and Aab means water. Modern Punjab is a land of three Doab.
