Preamble of indian constitution was presented on 13 December 1946 by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in the constituent Assembly as Objective Resolution. It was adopted on 22 January 1947 by Constituent Assembly.

The concept of Preamble in indian constitution adopted from the Constitution of United States of America.


 "We, The people of India, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and secure to all its citizens : 

JUSTICE, social, Economic and Political ;

LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship ;

EQUALITY of status and of opportunity ; and to promote among them all;

FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and Integrity of the Nation ;

In Our Constituent Assembly this twenty - sixth day of November, 1949, do Hereby Adopt, Enact and Give to ourselves this Constitution "

2. How Many times Amendment has been made in the Preamble

Answer : One time,  In 42nd constitutional Amendment 1976, three words were added in Preamble : Socialist, Secular and Integrity.

Answer : yes ( in the Berubari Union case in 1960 Supreme Court said Preamble is not an integral part of the Indian Constitution, but in the Kesavanadna Bharti Case in 1973 Supreme Court held that Preamble is a part of the  Constitution and again in the LIC of India case in 1995, Supreme Court said that the Preamble is an integral part of the  Constitution)
